I have been sewing since my mother taught me how to do so as a young child, and am now delighted to be able to work as an adult doing something that I love. I have four children age six and younger, and the scale of my business allows me to be home with them, something that is very important to me because I know how much I was affected by the time my mother invested in me!
I charge for my work on an hourly basis, and would love to talk with you about your specific project. My standard practice is to give you an estimate before I begin any sewing so that we are both comfortable with what our expectations are. For smaller projects, we will arrange a time that is convenient for you to come to my home to drop off the fabric and discuss any final details. For more complex projects, especially where measurements are important (most window treatments fall into this category), I will arrange to come to your house. I typically try to work within a half hour drive of where I live, though I have done a number of the memory projects at a greater distance, because so much of the correspondance can be done through email. If you live further than a half hour from me, but still within the Twin Cities area, I would still be glad to work with you, but would include my travel time in my fee.
In addition to my sewing services, I can also help you with design ideas and even fabric selections, where appropriate. I charge for this time at the same hourly rate as my sewing. I also work closely with a talented interior designer, Susan E. Brown Interior Design, (www.susanebrown.com) who is willing to work with my clients who desire her services in whatever capacity is appropriate.
